How to make velvet ribbon bows
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- Velvet ribbon
- Scissors
- Ornament hooks
Step 1
Cut your velvet ribbon into pieces about 30 inches long. Take a piece of your ribbon and make a simple loop and pinch the ribbon together.
Step 2
Wrap the tail on the right side over your thumb and hold it in the back.
Step 3
Keep holding the ribbon with your thumb and pointer with one hand. With your other hand, fold the right tail and pinch it to create the bows other loop.
Step 4
Pull the new right bow loop you just made over your thumb and pull to create your bow!
Step 5
Tighten your bow to the desired tightness and then stick your ornament hook through the back of the bows knot. Twist the metal hook around the branch of your Christmas tree to secure your bow onto it.
TIP: With velvet bows, be sure that the velvet side of your ribbon is facing the outside of your bow for a more suitable appearance.
